Photo Challenge: Wedding

This image was shot with my Nikon D7000 at F22 with a shutter speed of 1/160 at an ISO of 100. It was shot in the studio so lighting was used. Two strobes were used triggered by a transmitter. Not the usual type of model was used, by that I mean, she had a whole back tattoo. Great piece but not the most typical thing to find underneath a wedding dress and I wanted to show that off.

Photo Challenge: Sports

My friend called me up and asked if I wanted a short photography gig I said sure of course. It just so happened it was for a little league baseball championship game. I got some great shots using my Nikon D5000 and a 300 mm lens. I was either far away or up closer when there was no action of the game going on. The pitcher really took my interest though and that's why I picked to post his picture.

Photo Challenge: Self Portrait

I don't usually do self portraits but once and awhile I don't mind getting in front of the camera. It actually has the portability of coming out and looking alright. This time however I wasn't really all for it. I forced myself to hold up the Nikon D7000 and take one of those lame shots at 1/40 with an aperture 3.5 along with an ISO500 to make a stand! I didn't address the camera at all, I ignored it. Ignored it's gaze upon me because I feel it didn't deserve my attention at the time. I do love my camera though don't get me wrong..

Photo Challenge: Crime Scene

An iPhone has been murder! Such a tragic story... It was frightened so much it was scared out of its own skin. I came across it just laying there dying. It didn't know what to do as I leaned over watching it. I just had to turn away it was too much to watch. While this isn't serious in anyway I was strapped for an idea and decided to go a little goofy with it. While I don't think thats bad I just wanted to let you know this isn't really how I think. Just wanted to be a little different with this one. My settings for my Nikon D7000 were 1/40 with an aperture 3.5 along with an ISO500. Nothing special, and a little blown out on the knife but it fits it with the rest of it being darker.

EOC: Week 3

How I view myself now is not exactly where I would like to be. While my photos are of good quality, I feel that I need to put myself out there more by doing what needs to be done. Networking, getting more connections, basically just building a name for myself. Granted it won't be big time yet, but doing a little now will get me more later. So the photo shoots that I do now are the foundation for what will help me in the long run. I only have one way to go and that is up. My skills will only improve, my connections will only get better, and because of that my photos will be seen by more. Now when it comes to the near future I will have completed school, that will be one goal that is done and over with. I'll carry the success of that over to my photography and business. That will fuel me even more.

EOC: Week 1

Haute couture is wildly thought up dresses specially made for women with far too much money. They're not practical for day to day life or even for a special night out on the town. These are meant as high fashion objects. People looking at them longingly wishing they had been the ones to design or the ones wearing it. Then there are ones merely just gazing upon it with fascination and wonderment as to why someone would design such a thing. I fall into the latter. It's not that I don't see the purpose of Haute Couture it's just that it's too outlandish for me. I like to see dresses and similar pieces of clothing that can actually be worn around to places. Those are the type I would photograph, and would enjoy doing so more than something looking like it doesn't quite belong.
